Join me in calling on the Oceanside City Council to stand with working families.

Dear Mayor Sanchez and Oceanside Council Members,

On Wednesday the long awaited Smart and Sustainable Corridors Plan will come to council for approval. This plan will provide a fast-track for development of large tracks of land in the city of Oceanside. The city is allowing new homes to be built without council or planning commission review.

According to the Planning staff, this policy will incentivize 8,300 new housing units. We, the undersigned, call on the city to assign an inclusionary rate for development in the corridor to be at least 20%. Developers are getting every advantage and should be required to build homes that are affordable and accessible to the local residents of Oceanside.

Any delay in adding this to the plan would result in the loss of hundreds of homes. Stand with the working families of Oceanside and require builders to contribute their fair share to our community.
